Death

When players die in Dead Frontier, like any other game, they are given their life back to once again fight for it. Fellow survivors drag their half-dead bodies back to their last visited outpost. Of course, this does not come cheaply. For their help, they will want pay, say, all the money in your pockets?

Overview[]

When players die, they will have to wait a certain amount of time before revival. The amount of time they have to wait is 2 minutes for non-GM and 5 seconds for GM.

Upon death, players will lose all cash (but not credits) or half for levels 6-10 in hand which they were carrying during their venture into the Inner City. However, the cash deposited into their bank account will remain unaffected, and a Security Box can save a portion of cash found. Therefore, it is advisable for one to deposit all cash in hand before leaving the Outpost, or get hold of a Security Box. Security Boxes can be bought from the Marketplace or found in the city, with 6 different sizes available: Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, XXL (Only obtainable with Dusk Shop) and Huge, each capable of storing increasingly more money. Although, only your largest security box will be used to determine the amount of money you save. (i.e. If you have a small and a medium sized security box, only the medium will be used)

Players will be re-spawned in the last outpost they visited, regardless of which outpost they are closest to. Meaning if you last visited Doggs Stockade and died somewhere near Fort Pastor, you will still re-spawn at Doggs Stockade.

After revival, Level 1 - 10 players revive with 40% health which turns into 20% for all characters above Level 10, hunger remains the same for everyone. Also, 50% of the experience points gained after leaving your current outpost (like Nastya's Holdout) will be lost, and your Top Survivor records will be reset to 0.

PvP Death[]

PvP Death function in a similar manner to zombie-induced deaths, except that all your gained EXP and Top Survivor records are retained. Players seeking to quickly return to an outpost after a looting trip in a faraway area will thus often attempt to ask for another player nearby to enter PvP mode to kill them without resistance, rather than committing suicide on the nearest Leaper; in such situation, it is considered polite to accept their request and kill them as quickly as possible.

Death occurring in the Arena does not carry any of the penalty that a 'normal' death has - no revive timer is present regardless of GM status, no money on hand or EXP will be lost, your Top Survivor records are retained, and you respawn with your health/armor condition that you originally entered the Arena with.
